The Feminist Agroecology Network

A community of researchers, activists and practitioners at the intersection of agroecology and feminist thinking

About the Network

The Feminist Agroecology Network brings together researchers, practitioners, and activists from around the world who are interested in the intersections of feminism and agroecology as emancipatory and transformative political projects.

The network emerged in 2024, following the webinar Seeding Futures: Connecting Feminist Political Ecology and Agroecology, organised in collaboration with SOPPECOM and WEGO ITN. To continue our conversations and share resources we started a monthly newsletter, and since then the network has grown into a vibrant and engaged international community. Through our Riseup listserv, we encourage active participation from all members and welcome the exchange of ideas, opportunities, and resources in multiple languages.

This website provides a permanent home for the network; a space to share research, resources, events, and stories from across the world. We are committed to amplifying the voices, knowledges, and experiences of women farmers and rural communities, whose contributions remain chronically under-represented in scientific research, policy debates, and public discourse.

Whether you are an academic, practitioner, activist, or farmer, we invite you to join the conversation, share your work, and help us build a more connected and inclusive feminist agroecology community.

Our Newsletter

We curate a monthly newsletter covering academic and media articles, books, theses, podcasts, and events and we occasionally curate our newsletter around specific themes.

If you would like to suggest a resource to be shared in the upcoming newsletter, or a theme that you would like to be covered please send us an email at agrofutures@proton.me.

You can join to our mailing list by sending a message to feminist_agroecology_network-subscribe@lists.riseup.net and catch up with past issues in our Newsletter archives.
