JUNE 2025
Dear subscribers,
This month, we would like to invite you to explore the website of the EU-funded FLIARA Project, which aims to increase the visibility and recognition of women’s contributions to sustainable farming and rural development in Europe. The project seeks to enhance public understanding of the challenges faced by women leading innovative and sustainable farming projects—including agroecological initiatives. Throughout Europe, as in many parts of the world, women have long been overlooked and underrepresented in farming and rural sectors. Many women-led practices go unnoticed, which not only limits their impact but also reinforces gender norms and inequalities.
Employing a transdisciplinary approach that combines foresight and case study methods, network-building, and policy benchmarking, the FLIARA project is developing practical tools and policy proposals to ensure women are supported within a more just and sustainable innovation ecosystem.
We hope you enjoy this month’s updates. If you have something you'd like us to feature in our next newsletter, feel free to email us at agrofutures@proton.me by the end of May.
Warmly,The AgroFutures Team
